A warm reunion with our future school partners
During the following school tour our guests could gain insight into the workshops and the individualized instructions in the classrooms. The pedagogues from Usti nad Labem were impressed by the pleasantly small study groups in the workshops as well as the concentrated and varied individual work in the classrooms. At 11 a.m., the “Sanddorn” students opened their doors to perform their puppet theatre “The Story of Ferdinand”, which they had produced during our art project in March. The story of bull Ferdinand that loves flowers instead of bullfights delighted the audience with its scenery and singing performances.
In order to illustrate the development and growth of our school we subsequently went outside to look at the rest of our school campus, including the future second school building and our school garden, which is being redesigned and cultivated by pedagogues and students. Meanwhile, the cooking group of class 8/9A was preparing a potato soup for everyone.
After lunch and a variety of impressions and information, the teachers from Usti nad Labem were invited to deepen their insights into our individualized instructions by sitting in on class “Holunder”, whereas the students attended an art class. A short final conversation and a group photo ended a warm and informative get-together that once more promoted our school partnership. We are looking forward to our future collaboration and further exchange.
